Goemon5: The Music

Album: Way to Go

Your Love

I wrote this love song as a homework for the Calgary Songsmiths, our local songwriter circle. What came out is a folk pop song for the autoharp.

You turn the wine into water, bread into dust,
my mind goes blank when you go.
Life is harder, but I do what I must,
to see you again tomorrow.
Because this life of mine has but one light,
and I will see it when I close my eyes tonight.

[Your love is like the air,
I cannot breathe, when you're away.
Your love is just like water,
I wither and dry out, if you don't stay.

I wanna be your kiss-goodnight, your morning light, your appetite for more
'cause I adore,
Your rosy lips, your fingertips, your rhumba hips,
it is true - I love you.]

You bleach the color from the walls when you leave,
the flowers all turn gray.
The radio's just talking small, and guitars weave,
a sounding carpet of decay.
Because there's just one tune I wanna hear,
the clutter of your shoes drawing near.
